Do you know Kalevala, the national epic of
Finland? Its stories originate from old Finnish and Karelian mythology and oral
folklore. In the 19th century Elias Lönnrot wrote them all down in
one book called Kalevala. Due to its old language it is hard to read though.
But did you know that its Don Rosa, one of the
most popular comic book illustrators for Disney created his own version of the
Kalevala starring Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck? Not only for children this
book is a perfect start to enter the world of Kalevala. “The Quest of Kalevala”
was printed in Finnish, English and many other languages and can be found from
every bigger well-sorted book store.
