After a rainy and cold weekend the temperatures
are rising again this week. Even though we might still have to wait a bit for
the real summer the weather is on a good way. With June the outdoor swimming
season also starts again. Around Helsinki lots of beaches invite for sun and
sea baths.
Today also a very special beach opens its doors
again after a long renovation break. The public
beach in Seurasaari is one of the two nude beaches in Helsinki (the other
one is in Pihlajasaari).
It is
surrounded by a fence and divided into a male and female area. This nude beach has
a long history. It was built in the 1930s and has since been a popular
recreation place.
The entrance fee is 3 Euros and the beach is
open daily from 10.00 till 18.00.
